John Douglas Drozdyk

John Douglas Drozdyk, lovingly known to many as "Johnny D" and to others as "Droz", passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2026. He died at the young age of 66 years old. Born on August 4, 1959, in Poughkeepsie, New York. John was raised in Westport, Connecticut. After graduating from Saint Ansiem College, he made hi home in Clearwater, Florida, where he built his life and started his family. For the past 15 years, he lived in Georgetown, Texas, continuing to pour his heart into raising his family and the life he built there. John was hardworking and dedicated provider. In Florida, he proudly owned and operated multiple Dogwater Cafe' restaurants, where his outgoing personality and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on many. For the past decade, he worked as a supervisor at Firestone, where he continued to lead with strength, integrity, and commitment. John had a deep love for life and the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, fishing, snow skiing, swimming, windsurfing, sailing, rebuilding cars, football, and playing guitar. He was an extremely talented artist and music lover. Whether he was on the water, in the garage, or cheering on his team, he brought energy and enthusiasm to everything he did. More than anything, John loved his family. He was a devoted father, continuously involved in his children's lives, whether it be as an announcer to his oldest son's high school football games, coaching his middles son's youth sports teams, or simply being present for school and other athletic events. John is survived by his children Richard (Meghan), Amanda, Johnny, Jessica, and Jason, and he is carried in his heart the memory of Rachel and Steven, who preceded him in passing. He was a proud grandfather, aka "Papa", to Trevor, Gunnar, and Sydney, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his former wife, Kim Drozdyk, with whom he shared the blessing of raising their children together. He is further survived by his siblings Nick, Cameron, Lynn, and Charles. John was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Thomas Drozdyk, and his mother, Dorothy Sayre Drozdyk, who passed away the following day on January 25, 2026. John will be remembered as outgoing, fun, strong, supportive, and endlessly hardworking. He was a protector, a provider, a hero to his children and grandchildren, and a man who never gave up. His laughter, strength, and love will continue to live on in the lives of everyone who knew him. John's legacy is one of resilience, devotion, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We take comfort in knowing that John is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with his loved one's who went before him. Though our hearts are heavy, we trust in God's promise of eternal life and hold onto the hope that we will see him again. His legacy of love, strength, and faith wi;; continue to guide us until that day. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 410 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626 on February 24, 2026 at 3:00pm, followed by a gathering at his home in Georgetown.
